Children’s ballet and carolers will help bring holiday cheer to a Christmas open house Sunday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library near Simi Valley.
The festivities, free to the public from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will include two performances by the Matador Chorus from Los Cerritos Intermediate School in Thousand Oaks, among other local children’s groups.
Also featured will be the dance team from the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, whose members range from 4 to 9 years old, as well as the Conejo Valley Cloggers adult dance group and the Covenant Ringers of the United Methodist Church of Westlake Village.
For the needy, visitors are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped child’s toy to the library, where the lobby will include a Toys for Tots bin. Santa and Mrs. Claus also are expected to appear at the facility at 40 Presidential Drive.
To accommodate shoppers, the library, museum and its gift shop will be open from 5 to 8 p.m. Gift shop prices will be reduced by 20% and the Sunshine Generation will perform.
Since Nov. 19, the library has featured a 30-tree “Christmas Around the World” exhibit that commemorates the tree ornaments and other traditions from the countries that Ronald and Nancy Reagan visited during their stay in the White House.
Also featured at the library is the exhibit “World War II: Personal Accounts--Pearl Harbor to V-J Day.”
