INVITING BUT NO FUN

About the review of Neal Gabler’s “Winchell” (Nov. 13):
Seeing that old radio on the cover along with Winchell’s “Good evening Mr./Mrs. America,” I reached for a cup of coffee and sat down to enjoy reading the review--but didn’t enjoy it!
The reviewer’s choice of words and phrases was distracting. What does exiguously disreputable mean?
Hope someone else reviews the book (at $30 I’m not going to buy it based on this review)--but keep the same cover on the book review section.
F. POWELL, TORRANCE
