Police to Explain Party Ordinance

Share

Newport Beach Police Chief Robert J. McDonell and Sgt. Andy Gonis will host an informational community meeting tonight about the city’s new party ordinance.

The ordinance was tentatively approved Monday night and is expected to get final approval in January.

Currently, the city bills residents $150 if police have to go to the same address more than once in 30 days to quiet loud parties. Under the new ordinance, fines would range from $250 for the second party call to one address in a year to $500 for the third call and $750 for the fourth and each subsequent call.
