COSTA MESA — Three D Departments Inc., a retailer of bed and bath products, posted a loss of $134,068, or 5 cents a share, for its first fiscal quarter. That contrasted with a profit of $71,952, or 3 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales for the quarter ended Oct. 29 increased 15%, to $11.7 million from $10.2 million. The company attributed the quarterly loss to additional advertising costs associated with promoting stores with expanded housewares departments.
