Girl Dies After Running in Front of Father’s Truck
A 16-month-old girl died Tuesday after she ran in front of her father’s pickup truck and was run over outside the family’s home, police said.
Garbis Karatepeyan was driving north in the 9500 block of Delco Avenue near Halsted Street about 12:15 p.m. when he struck his daughter, Christine, who was running alongside the vehicle and suddenly darted into its path, said Sgt. Rod Graheck of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Christine’s mother was standing outside the home with her when the toddler began running after her father’s truck, Graheck said. She died of her injuries at Northridge Hospital Medical Center, Graheck said.
