What’s more boring?

A. Waiting in line to get a gift wrapped at the department store?

B. Getting stuck in rush-hour traffic on the San Diego Freeway?

C. Watching the Clippers play?

If you answered “C,” you win two tickets to the Clippers’ lottery party.

Even Coach Bill Fitch looked bored as he watched his team fall behind by 34 points in the fourth quarter and lose its second consecutive game, 110-79, to the Seattle SuperSonics Tuesday night before a crowd of 11,952 at the Tacoma Dome.

Fitch criticized his players’ shot selection after the Clippers shot only 37.7% (29 for 77). Instead of being patient, the Clippers rushed their shots against Seattle.

“We have got some people who look for the jump shot first, and it’s like cancer,” Fitch said.

Guard Pooh Richardson, who missed all 10 shots he took in his previous game, missed seven of eight shots against the SuperSonics. And the shot he made was a fast-break layup.

“I’m just not making them,” Richardson said with a look of disgust. “I think the last-second shots kill me because I just throw them up there. But that only happened once tonight. I’ve got to make those shots. Those are my shots.

“The only shots I take are the ones (during which ) I can stand there and look at (the basket). If I miss them, I’ve got to live with them. I’m not going to put myself in a situation where I’m shooting shots with people all on me unless the clock is running down.”

Rookie forward Lamond Murray made two of 11 shots and forward Loy Vaught made four of 12. Guard Terry Dehere made two of 10 shots as the Clippers lost for the fourth time in their last five games.

Forward Malik Sealy, who had averaged 20 points in his first five games as a starter, was one of the few Clippers who shot well, making nine of 12 shots and scoring a team-high 22 points.

All-Star forward Sean Kemp, who had a career-high 42 points in the SuperSonics’ 132-127 double-overtime victory over the Clippers on Dec. 10 at the Sports Arena, had 23 points and 13 rebounds in 33 minutes.

Kemp, who drew a technical foul for taunting rookie forward Eric Piatkowski after a dunk in the SuperSonics’ last game against the Clippers, drew a technical foul for taunting Clipper center Charles Outlaw after a second-quarter dunk.

“They said I looked at (Outlaw) too long,” Kemp said of the technical. “I can understand the last one because I pointed at him, so this is a little hard to take. But I’ll have to accept it.

“I think they’re looking for things now. I guess I’ll just have to sprint back to the other end as fast as possible from here on out and not even celebrate.”

All-Star guard Gary Payton had 22 points and nine assists, and Kendall Gill had 21 points, four rebounds and four assists as Seattle won its third consecutive game.

Clipper Notes

Although guard Gary Grant, who hasn’t played this season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last summer, said he hoped to make his debut in Friday night’s game against Washington, Coach Bill Fitch said it’s doubtful unless someone gets hurt because he doesn’t want to waive anyone two days before Christmas. Grant said he plans to take a strength test today. . . . Fitch held Eric Riley, a 7-foot center who signed with the Clippers Sunday, out of the game.
