A Law Test for Prop. 187

In his Dec. 17 letter, Tibor Zelig criticized Esa-Pekka Salonen and Ernest Fleischmann of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for making anti-Proposition 187 remarks while in Mexico (“Proving Music Knows No Borders,” Nov. 24).

Zelig says the statements “demean the majority of California voters, including Philharmonic supporters.” I wish someone would tell Zelig that just because a proposition is passed, it does not necessarily mean that it is constitutional.
