There wasn’t much Orlando Magic Coach Brian Hill could say.

His team was crushed by the Chicago Bulls, 109-77, Tuesday night at Chicago, suffering only its second loss in 11 games and fifth in 25.

The team with the best record in the NBA fell to 26-7.

And the 77 points by Orlando, which entered the game leading the league in scoring with a 114-point average, were a season low.

“We were outcoached, outplayed and outhustled. We were beat in every phase of the game,” Hill said. “You can’t expound on that a whole lot more.”

Scottie Pippen led the way with 26 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds, the 14th triple-double of his career.

“The game had a lot of meaning for us, especially with Horace (Grant, former Bull now with Orlando) here,” Pippen said. “Everybody was up for the challenge. We played with a lot of pride. We shut the passing lanes down and didn’t give them second shots.”

Shaquille O’Neal of the Magic, the league’s leading scorer with a 30-point average, was held to 17.

Grant had 10 points.

New York 117, Indiana 105--John Starks matched a team record with eight three-point baskets and scored 31 points at New York to help the Knicks to their seventh consecutive victory.

In the teams’ first meeting since the Knicks beat the Pacers in the seventh game of the Eastern Conference finals last season, neither team missed much. Two of the league’s best defensive teams each made 62% of their shots.

The two shooting guards, Starks and Reggie Miller, each made 10 of 16, but Starks’ three-point baskets made the difference for New York.

Seattle 128, Golden State 118--Sam Perkins made two free throws with 1.3 seconds to play in regulation before making two three-point shots in overtime to lift the SuperSonics at Oakland.

Perkins made five three-point shots and scored 21 points.

Chris Mullin of the Warriors, who hadn’t played this season because of a knee injury, scored 23 points.

Charlotte 116, Cleveland 108--Alonzo Mourning scored 25 points and Larry Johnson 24 for the Hornets, who won in overtime at Cleveland for their franchise-record sixth consecutive victory.

Detroit 98, New Jersey 84--Joe Dumars scored 32 points at Auburn Hills, Mich., to help the Pistons end an eight-game losing streak.

Atlanta 99, Washington 96--Craig Ehlo scored 12 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter at Landover, Md., helping the Hawks send the Bullets to their ninth consecutive loss.
