Four-Star Films : ‘Little Big Man’

Share

Arthur Penn’s great picaresque 1970 revisionist Western, adapted by Calder Willingham from Thomas Berger’s novel about the lone survivor (played by Dustin Hoffman, left) of the Little Big Horn Massacre, is a savage, heart-tearing tale. It is about life among Native Americans and life among whites, and of a majestic civilization and its slaughter and slow decay. With Chief Dan George and Faye Dunaway (right) (TBS Tuesday at 9:35 p.m.).
