Kids Can Tap Into Ticketsville

Share

If chances are you’ll never tap dance your way to stardom, at least your kids can tap into some tickets for the Broadway hit “Jelly’s Last Jam.” On Saturday, children in age groups 6 to 12 and 13 to 18 can bring their music on a cassette and dance for two minutes in front of the judges--who include Fayard Nicholas, one of the legendary tap-dancing Nicholas Brothers.

The winners of the tap contest will receive four tickets to the show, a two-time Tony award winner, which opens Tuesday at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. The contest is from 1 to 3 p.m. across the street from the Civic at the Pasadena Plaza, on the corner of Los Robles Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Admission is free to participants and spectators. For tappers, it may be a good idea to call for a time slot: (213) 655-8926.
