NEWPORT BEACH — The family of slain businessman William F. McLaughlin has offered $40,000 for information on the month-old case, police said Thursday.
Newport Beach police declined to discuss their investigation into the slaying of the 55-year-old McLaughlin, a millionaire entrepreneur found shot to death Dec. 15 in his home in the community of Balboa Coves.
McLaughlin was founder of a medical firm that created a successful blood-filtering device.
Police said the reward was offered for information leading to the conviction of the killer. Those with leads were urged to call 1-800-550-NBPD.
