Police arrested a 13-year-old boy driving his uncle’s stolen vehicle and three other juveniles after a chase that began early Saturday in Fullerton and reached speeds of 100 m.p.h., police said.

California Highway Patrol officers arrested the youths on suspicion of possession of stolen property and a loaded weapon, according to Lt. Tony Hernandez of the Fullerton Police Department. Police said the youths are suspected gang members.

The chase started near Euclid Street and Orangethorpe Avenue at 3:52 a.m. when a Fullerton police officer spotted the vehicle, which had been reported stolen in Huntington Beach, Hernandez said.

The chase, which was taken up by CHP officers, ended in Commerce when the juveniles crashed the car near Garfield Avenue after exiting the Santa Ana Freeway, Hernandez said. No injuries were reported from the crash, police said.

Police found a stolen handgun and computer games in the vehicle, Hernandez said. The loaded handgun was reported stolen in Mississippi, said Hernandez.

All four youths were released Friday morning to their parents, Hernandez said. Ages of the other juveniles were not known, and their names were withheld because of their age.
