Woman’s Drowning Is Ruled Accidental
A woman, whose body was found floating in the ocean over the weekend, drowned accidentally, the county coroner’s office said Tuesday.
The woman was identified as 30-year-old Dawn O’Brien of Orange.
O’Brien’s clothed body, carrying her car keys and car alarm, was spotted by witnesses just north of Main Beach, authorities said. She had been seen earlier walking along the rocks at Bird Rock.
Paramedics tried unsuccessfully to revive O’Brien. She had been dead less than an hour when she was pulled from the water, according to an autopsy.
