FULLERTON : Schools Consultant to Help Recruit Chief
Trustees of the Fullerton School District this week agreed to spend up to $3,000 for a consultant to help them search for a new superintendent.
Former Fullerton Joint Union High School District Supt. Leonard Murdy, who is the director of the education administration placement office at the University of Southern California, will be called upon to help the district design a recruiting plan, officials said.
He also will develop a brochure to use in recruiting potential candidates for the job, establish deadlines for applications and interviews, guide the school board on how to go about choosing a replacement and define hiring criteria.
Supt. Duncan Johnson, who has run the district for the past 15 years, submitted a letter of resignation earlier this month. His last day will be June 30.
School board members said they welcome comments regarding the superintendent search from district teachers and parents.
