Cable: Federal regulators on Thursday approved the $1-billion sale of mid-size cable company TeleCable Corp. to the nation’s largest cable company, Tele-Communications Inc., provided TCI sells overlapping systems in Columbus, Ga. Under a proposed settlement, the Federal Trade Commission said the deal can move forward if Englewood, Colo.-based TCI gets rid of one of two cable systems it would own in Columbus through the deal.
