SOCCER : 4 Lincoln High Players Suspended After Fight
The Lincoln High boys’ soccer team lost four starting players to suspension, including leading scorer Melvin Hernandez, and suffered a 4-2 defeat to Franklin in a Northern Conference game on Wednesday.
The four were suspended after fighting in a Jan. 20 match against Bravo Medical.
Former goalie Jose Guevara scored two goals for the Tigers.

South Gate 2, Locke 1--Oscar Pedilla and Jacob Aguilar each scored to give the Rams their first win of the season in a Southeastern Conference game Thursday.

Bell Gardens 1, Schurr 1--Lancer Gustavo Garito made the game-tying goal with three minutes left in an Almont League game Thursday at Schurr.

Belmont 3, Verdugo Hills 0-- Hector Alvarado pulled off a hat-trick and Belmont improved to a perfect 12-0 in a Northern Conference game Wednesday.

Garfield 3, Huntington Park 0--Gerardo Gomez’s hat trick kept the Bulldogs in first place in the Eastern League at 8-0-3 in a Southeastern Conference game Tuesday.

Roosevelt 2, Locke 0--Roman Garibay and Cesar Rodriguez each scored to give the Roughriders a victory in a Southeastern Conference win Tuesday at Locke.
