Kansas rose to No. 2 behind North Carolina in the Associated Press college basketball poll on Monday, but the Jayhawks probably won’t stay there long after losing to 24th-ranked Oklahoma State, 79-69, later in the day at Stillwater, Okla.

Bryant Reeves played his best game of the season for Oklahoma State, scoring 33 points and taking a career-high 20 rebounds to help the Cowboys move into first place in the Big Eight.

Oklahoma State, 16-6 overall and 6-1 in conference play, took control of the game by outscoring the Jayhawks, 20-6, over the final 13 minutes of the first half.

No. 3 Connecticut 90, Pittsburgh 61--Ray Allen scored 24 points to lead the Huskies (18-1, 11-0) over the Panthers (5-15, 1-11) in a Big East game at Storrs, Conn.
