COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Master’s Rolls Behind Penberthy’s 33 Points

Mike Penberthy scored 33 points to lead The Master’s College to a 71-68 nonconference victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a nonconference men’s game in Newhall on Wednesday night.

James Mosley added 24 points as the Mustangs (21-4) won their eighth consecutive game.

Antelope Valley 107, Barstow 76--Guard Orville Turner scored 31 points, lifting the Marauders (20-8, 4-1) to a Foothill Conference victory at Barstow (8-20, 1-5).

Valley 86, Glendale 80--Kenyth Harris made four of five three-point shots and scored 20 points for the Monarchs in a Western State Conference South Division game. Vernon Simmons added 14 points and 11 rebounds for Valley (17-11, 7-1).

Oxnard 86, Santa Barbara 77--Amiri Johnson scored 24 points and had 17 rebounds for Oxnard (15-13, 2-4) in a WSC North Division game.

Brandon Lee added 21 points and 13 rebounds, and Anthony Talley had 19 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds.

West Los Angeles 71, Canyons 57--The Cougars (8-18, 1-6) trailed by seven in the first half and could not catch the Oilers in a Western State Conference South Division game.

Malik Clark scored 20 and Kwesi Fulton added 15 for Canyons.

WOMEN

Canyons 106, Pierce 48--Stephanie Labor scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, lifting the Lady Cougars (25-5, 7-0) to a WSC South Division victory at Canyons.

Kim Butler led Pierce (10-14, 2-5) with 19 points.

Ventura 84, Moorpark 64--Julie Hardy scored 33 points and had 10 rebounds for the Pirates (23-1, 7-0) in WSC North Division game. Tori Anderson had 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Valley 69, Glendale 65--Valery Brady scored 26 points and Vonya Dangerfield added eight points and 11 rebounds for the Monarchs (20-9, 5-2) in a WSC South Division game.
