SOCCER ROUNDUP : Sylmar Plays Role of Spoiler

Israel Cabrea had a goal and an assist to lead Sylmar High to a 2-1 victory Tuesday that knocked North Hollywood out of the East Valley League championship.

Cabrea scored his 32nd goal of the season midway through the first half at North Hollywood and assisted on one by Francisco Vasquez minutes later.

Denis Monjarai scored in the second half for North Hollywood (8-5-3, 4-2-2), which finished second to Poly, and goalie Aaron Moreno had eight saves.

Juan Magana stopped 12 shots for Sylmar (6-5-5), which finished in third place.

Chatsworth 2, San Fernando 2--Trevor Schmidt scored his seventh and eighth goals in the second half and the Chancellors (13-5-4, 8-4-2) clinched the West Valley League title.

Guy Klein made four saves for Chatsworth.
