6.6 Quake Hits Northern California

EUREKA, Calif. —
A strong earthquake felt over a wide area rolled through Northern California on Saturday night, but no injuries or damage were reported.
The quake struck at 8:03 p.m. and had a preliminary magnitude of 6.6, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered about 80 miles west-southwest of Eureka in the Pacific Ocean.
