Knee Injury Sidelines Titan Guard St. Clair for Rest of the Season

Cal State Fullerton guard Chris St. Clair, injured in the second half of Saturday night’s loss to San Jose State, will be out for the season because of a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

St. Clair, a sophomore, had started four games for the Titans and was averaging 10 points, three rebounds and two assists. The former first-team all-county player from Sonora High will undergo three weeks of therapy before reconstructive surgery.

“I feel badly about this for Chris most of all,” Coach Bob Hawking said. “But I feel good about his ability to handle it. Knowing his work ethic, I expect to come back through rehabilitation and be an important member of the team.”

Hawking said he has not decided how he will replace St. Clair in the starting lineup for Thursday’s game against Long Beach State.

Forward David Frigout suffered an ankle sprain in Tuesday’s practice, and he will undergo further tests, leaving his status for Thursday’s game uncertain.
