Corona del Mar 66, Crespi 49--The Celts went more than 15 minutes without a field goal in their Division IV-AA quarterfinal loss at L.A. Baptist High.
Crespi (14-12) led, 20-17, with almost six minutes to play in the second quarter when Giandrea Marcaccini missed a dunk.
Corona del Mar (16-11) responded with a 36-4 run that ended Crespi’s improbable playoff run. The Celts won their first two playoff games.
Crespi scored only two points in the third quarter and did not make a basket in the second half until Dave Lins made a short jump shot with seven minutes to play.
Lins finished with eight points and Marcaccini had a season-low six points.
Four players scored in double figures for Corona del Mar. Guard Dominic DeGrazier scored 17 points and teammate Brian Fracalosy added 14.
