A suspended Ventura County fire captain has pleaded not guilty to charges of selling drugs and possessing explosives, court authorities said Wednesday.

William Handy is charged with three counts of selling methamphetamines, two counts of possessing weapons and one count of being under the influence of methamphetamine.

He was arrested Dec. 21 in the sale of half an ounce of methamphetamine to a police informant in a supermarket parking lot on Reino Road in Newbury Park, authorities said.
