Disneyland Invites Guests to Yearlong Birthday Celebration
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the opening of Disneyland, and the debut of the Indiana Jones Adventure serves as the centerpiece of the year’s festivities. There are some other observances, however:
* Through March 2, Disneyland guests will get a trading card depicting a park attraction or a year in the park’s history. A different card is issued each day.
* Every day through the year, costumed characters will gather around a giant birthday cake in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle to sing “Happy Birthday.”
* Five times daily, the revamped Tomorrowland Terrace Stage will be the site of a stage show celebrating the park’s 40 years.
* The summer fireworks show and Fantasmic! will be expanded for the anniversary year.
