Wetlands: Audubon Society Needs Volunteers
The National Audubon Society, an environmental education association, is seeking volunteers to lead school tours into the Ballona Wetlands in Playa del Rey.
The organization is hosting an open house and introductory tour of the Wetlands on Wednesday for interested volunteers. The tour is part of an ongoing program offering Los Angeles schoolchildren the chance to see the last major salt marsh in Los Angeles County.
Volunteers do not need experience but are expected to attend monthly meetings, field trips and learn information from a training manual.
