VENTURA : Sketch of Suspect in Sex Assault Released
Ventura police on Tuesday released a composite sketch of a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman near the county Government Center last weekend.
Detective Jim Burt said the suspect is 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches, of average build, with collar-length brown hair and brown eyes.
The 24-year-old woman was driving home from work about 7 a.m. Saturday when the suspect apparently cut her off while making a right-hand turn onto Victoria Avenue from Telegraph Avenue, Burt said.
Following a brief argument between the two, he started following her, then blocked her car at Thille Street and County Square Drive, police said. After the victim fled the car on foot, the man chased her, tackled her and then sexually assaulted her, police said. He drove away in a small, faded red pickup truck.
