Or, looking for a book to read and can’t afford a new one?

Friends of Costa Mesa Libraries will hold a used book sale at the downtown library at 1855 Park Ave. on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hardcovers will cost $1, paperbacks will run 50 cents, and children’s books and magazines will be hawked for as cheap as a quarter.

“What kind of books? Everything you can think of,” said Jean Femling, publicity chairman for Friends of Costa Mesa Libraries.

Some of the hardcovers on sale will include seven Stephen King first editions; Clive Barker’s “Weave World”; Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”; and Hank Searl’s “Blood Song,” which is autographed by the author.
