THOUSAND OAKS : 6 File Papers to Run for Council Position

Share

Self-employed businessman Eckbal Quidwai became the final person to file nominating papers for an empty seat on the Thousand Oaks City Council on Friday, the last day to join the race.

If Quidwai and three others who filed papers Thursday are certified as candidates by county election officials, there will be six people running for Frank Schillo’s place on the council. Schillo’s seat became vacant when he was elected to the county Board of Supervisors last year.

Compton homicide detective Mike Markey and businessman Ramaul Rush both have been certified as candidates by county elections officials.

Attorney Trudi Loh, mobile carwash owner Lance Winslow and real estate broker and engineer John Ellis all returned papers on Thursday and are awaiting certification.

The special election will be held June 6.
