BREA : Trustees to Consider Raising School Bus Fees

Share

In an effort to recover the cost of student transportation, the Brea Olinda Unified School Board will consider raising bus fees during a public hearing later this month.

Bus riders and parents are being urged to attend the March 20 hearing.

Trustees will discuss adopting a bus fee for elementary school children and increasing the fees for all other district students who already pay to ride the bus.

Raising bus fees is one way to help balance the 1995-96 $22-million school budget, and trustees may also have to consider cuts in instructional programs, Goff said. If they do adopt new fees, students will start paying when school starts in the fall.
