City Council meeting

What: The City Council will consider various traffic and street improvement projects, including a request for $23,000 from the Orange County Transportation Authority to pay for the cost of designing a traffic signal connecting Cerritos Avenue from Knott Avenue to Los Alamitos Boulevard. The council also will consider awarding separate contracts to two engineering firms for alley and street improvements.

Huntington Beach Union High School District board meeting

What: The board will have a public hearing on more than $1 million in proposed budget cuts for the 1995-96 school year. The cuts are needed because of declining school enrollment and lost interest from money invested in the bankrupt county investment pool.
