Moments before the scheduled start of the game there was a downpour that lasted about two hours, Chapman co-Coach Janet Lloyd said. The game won’t be rescheduled because Trenton State had to catch a flight home.

“I asked them, ‘Is there anyway you guys can stay?’ ” Lloyd said. “They said, ‘No, gotta go, gotta go.’ ”

Earlier Friday, the Panthers (11-2) beat Wisconsin Oshkosh, 6-2, as Kathy Donovan went three for three with three runs batted in.

In nonconference baseball:

Westmont 4, Chapman 2--Chapman’s Matt Marquez struck out with runners on second and third and two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning. The first two batters in the inning had walked and advanced on a weak ground out. With one out, pinch hitter Carlos Cervallos grounded out to the pitcher, setting the stage for Marquez’s at-bat.

Marquez had two hits in the game and teammate Jason Smith walked three times and scored once.
