GLENDALE / BURBANK : Hundreds of Cats Up for Adoption

Share

A group of cat lovers is asking for the public’s help in finding homes for hundreds of homeless kittens and cats that will be available for adoption this weekend.

The Glendale and Burbank Cat Rescue Clubs will co-sponsor the adoption, which will be held in conjunction with the American Cat Assn.’s final cat show and competition of the season from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The cats available for adoption come from animal shelters across the San Fernando and San Gabriel valleys.

“This is the last cat show until the season begins in September so this is our last chance to find homes for these cats,” said Bob Johnson, a veterinarian and organizer of the adoption. “Many of them could be destroyed if they’re not adopted.”

Admission to the cat show is $5, and there is a suggested donation of $5 to adopt a cat. The event will be at the National Guard Armory, 220 E. Colorado St. in Glendale.
