Blaze Damages Industrial Building

Share

Fire heavily damaged a manufacturing building housing two businesses in Canoga Park Friday night.

There were no injuries.

The fire was reported at 7:42 p.m. in a one-story, 30,000-square-foot structure in the 21300 block of Deering Court. It housed 3G Entertainment, a manufacturer of videotape cassettes, and 4th Dimension, a maker of metal tables, said Assistant Chief Jim Young of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

At the height of the blaze, flames shot through the roof and thick, black smoke from burning plastic cassette cases rolled throughout the area. A Fire Department helicopter kept watch over several lumberyards, situated downwind, in case sparks and ashes set off other fires, but none broke out.
