Two Men Wounded, One Critically, in Shooting

SANTA ANA — Two men were shot and wounded, one critically, Friday afternoon near a car lot on 1st Street, police said.
The shootings occurred about 4:20 p.m. when the two were confronted by gang members while walking in the area , said Lt. Jose Garcia of the Santa Ana Police Department. The two victims ran off and one of them, whom authorities had not yet identified, was shot in the back of the head and found by police in the parking lot of the McDonald’s restaurant at 301 E. 1st St., Garcia said.
He was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana where he was listed in critical condition late Friday, Garcia said.
The other man, Ramon Gutierrez, 19, of Santa Ana, was shot in the legs, Garcia said. He was treated and released from the hospital.
A .25-caliber semiautomatic handgun was found near the shooting scene, Garcia said.
