HUNTINGTON BEACH : Mobile-Home Owners Closer to Buying Park

Share

Residents of Huntington Harbour Mobile Estates are one step closer to owning their mobile-home park.

The City Council last week approved giving the mobile home association a redevelopment agency loan for $15,000 to help members pursue their goal of buying the park.

“It’s our first step,” said Ray Manion, the association’s president, after the April 3 vote.

Manion said the money will be used to pay for an appraisal of the park and an engineering study.

The residents’ efforts to purchase the lease and the land is a first for this city.

The 130-space park is located on the edge of Huntington Harbour, at Heil Avenue and Saybrook Lane.

About 200 residents, age 55 and older, live in the park.

“We’re putting in place the process for others to follow,” Manion said.
