GLENDALE : Author to Speak at Mayor’s Breakfast

George Barna, a self-described futurist and proprietor of a Glendale marketing research company who has authored 19 books on Christianity and self-motivation, will be the featured speaker at the 32nd annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast on May 4.

The theme of this year’s breakfast will be “The Spiritual Unity of our Community,” and the program will feature music by the John Marshall Elementary School chorus and pianist Norman Henry Mamey, a composer who lives in the city.

The event draws hundreds of local residents and business people annually.

In recent years, keynote speakers have included former Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl F. Gates and several war heroes and business leaders.

Through his company, Barna specializes in conducting research for Christian churches and other organizations. His clients have included the Billy Graham Evangelistic Assn., Focus on the Family, World Vision, the Disney Channel and the Army.
