HUNTINGTON BEACH : Adjustments Interrupt Water Fluoridation
- Share via
The city has temporarily stopped adding fluoride, which helps prevent tooth decay, to the water supply.
Les Jones, director of public works, said new regulations require that modifications to the water division’s fluoride delivery truck be made. The changes, which will cost more than $10,000, will take up to eight weeks.
“In that period of time, the water division will not be able to refill the fluoride feeder tanks located at our water sources,” Jones said.
There should be no adverse health effects because of the temporary curtailment, officials said.
