SIMI VALLEY : Closing of School Will Be Examined
The Simi Valley school board will host a community forum tonight to answer parents’ questions about the proposed closure of Sycamore Elementary School.
The Simi Valley Unified School District expects to save about $200,000 by shutting down the small, 300-student campus.
But parents argue that closing a neighborhood school should be considered only as a last resort.
The board is scheduled to vote on the proposed closure April 25.
Tonight’s forum starts at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at Berylwood Elementary School, 2300 Heywood St.
