LOS ANGELES COUNTY : Inland Empire Caltrans Chief to Head Local Office
The director of state transportation functions in Riverside and San Bernardino counties was named Thursday to head the Caltrans office for Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
Ken Steele, a Caltrans transportation engineer for 37 years, also was district director in the San Joaquin Valley, said Caltrans Director James van Loben Sels.
As the head of District 7, Steele, who replaces Interim Director Jack Hallin, will be responsible for 1,181 miles of state highway and an annual budget of more than $200 million, van Loben Sels said.
