City recreation supervisor Kathleen McGlynn said programs ranging from roller hockey leagues to summer day camps will benefit, along with 15 charitable groups organizing the event.

The Seal Beach run, timed to coincide with Orange County Volunteer Connection Day, raised about $8,000 last year.
