LOS ALAMITOS : Commerce Group Wins Accreditation

Share

The Los Alamitos Area Chamber of Commerce has been recognized as an accredited organization by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Dennis W. Sheehan, chairman of the board of the national business group, recently conferred the recognition after an inspection visit by J. Walker Owens from the organization’s Western states office.

The accreditation program sets standards for planning and performance through which the success of local chambers of commerce are measured.

With accreditation, the chamber will be able to provide better programs and training to members from the business and professional community, Executive Director David Holland said.

Holland headed a seven-member panel that drafted the evaluation report submitted to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The other members were Kay Koford, George Briggeman, Rick Gaede, Ben Sutherlin, Margrit Kendrick and Roberta Fratello.
