SAN CLEMENTE : Noise Expected From Military Exercises

Share

After a noisy weekend from the El Toro Air Show, the loud booms and rumblings will continue for some Orange County residents due to military exercises at Camp Pendleton that began Tuesday.

Marine officials said the noise will be coming from the firing of 155mm howitzers into an “impact area” in the middle of the military base, which is just south of San Clemente.

The firing will take place between 9 a.m. and 10 p.m., through Friday. Depending on atmospheric conditions, base officials said, the sound of the explosions may be heard up to 50 miles away.
