PASADENA : Art Center to Receive $3-Million Donation
The Samsung Group, one of Korea’s largest conglomerates, recently pledged a $3-million gift to Pasadena’s Art Center College of Design. The gift is the largest donation in the college’s 65-year history and is earmarked for student scholarships and programs to enhance the quality of teaching.
The gift also will create the President’s Samsung Discretionary Fund, with annual earnings to be directed into special educational projects.
The college was chosen for its history of turning out large numbers of graduates who go on to work in design studios, corporations, automotive companies and advertising agencies worldwide.
