Rescuers on Wednesday plucked six people from a life raft after a 190-foot offshore supply carrier sank off Malibu.

One man was treated for hypothermia, but the rest of the crew members were uninjured, a Coast Guard officials said.

The Coast Guard received a Mayday call from the Long Beach-based American Heritage about 12:10 a.m., said Petty Officer Randy Reid.

The caller reported “flooding in the engine room,” Reid said, adding that it was unknown what caused the leak.

Shortly afterward, the crew boarded a life raft and the ship went down.

A Coast Guard helicopter crew and a 41-foot rescue boat, lifeguards and two private vessels went to the scene.

The supply boat sank about eight miles offshore from Malibu Point, authorities said.
