Sizable Savings in Designer Shoes : Big-name footwear in range of styles is priced from $9.95 to $79.95 at new Northridge store.
Anew source for women’s designer shoes has just opened in the San Fernando Valley, and, judg ing from the warm recep tion it’s getting, it should be around for quite some time. Designer Discount Shoes isn’t allowed to advertise the big names that are inside each shoe, but we can tell you what they are because this is not a paid advertisement.
Here’s a starter list: Bruno Magli, Ferragamo, Robert Clergerie, Escada, Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, Pancaldi, Perry Ellis, Via Spiga, Ellen Tracy, Stuart Weitzman, Etienne Aigner and Nine West. Like all discounters, they don’t have every style in every size; there’s not even a large selection from each designer, but with a little bit of luck you can score here.
The big-name designer shoes are organized by size along the left wall as you enter. Fabulous Ferragamo sandals that retail for $325 were $79.95, which was the highest price in the store. But the prices start at $9.95 for Jasmin, Jacqueline, Marquis and others.
Also going for $79.95 were black patent leather sling pumps from Stuart Weitzman (retail $175), black faille pumps from Ellen Tracy (retail $155) and classic loafers from Ferragamo (retail $230).
For $69.95 there were some Bruno Magli navy pumps (retail $204) and black reptile loafers from Robert Clergerie (retail $282).
In the center of the store are the Caressas and Jasmins, along with many other medium-priced shoes priced at $9.95. Sizes run from 5 to 10 with a good mix of widths.
Children’s footwear, in the rear, runs from infant Size 3 to children’s Size 6 with such names as Rebels, Keds, Looney Tunes and Jumping Jacks.

The William Kasper Cashmere Sales are usually a much-anticipated fall event in Southern California. For years the sales have been held in November, but demand has brought about a spring sale today and Saturday at the Westwood Plaza Hotel. Prices on cashmere sweaters start at $59. Mirrors and try-on areas have been added as well as more cashiers.
