1 Killed, 1 Seriously Hurt in Crash
A man died Friday and a woman was seriously injured when the convertible they were riding in overturned on a winding stretch of Winnetka Avenue in Woodland Hills, authorities said.
The 30-year-old man, whose name was not released pending notification of his relatives, died at the scene, Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Bob Collis said.
The woman, 32, was taken by helicopter to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
Firefighters “had to extricate them both,” Collis said.
It was unclear which person was driving at the time of the accident, which occurred about 5:45 p.m. in the 4400 block of Winnetka Avenue.
The car slammed into a parked vehicle during the crash. The cause of the accident was under investigation, police said.
