Thousand Oaks sheriff’s investigators arrested three high school students on suspicion of beating the 17-year-old boy accused of stabbing their friend on campus last week, authorities said Saturday.
Investigators said William Sperry, 19, Adam Knox, 18, and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Friday after turning themselves in for allegedly beating the student suspected of stabbing Rick Coletta.
Coletta, 18, was stabbed in the neck Thursday morning after fighting with the 17-year-old stabbing suspect. He was treated at an area hospital and released.
The stabbing suspect is being housed at a juvenile detention facility.
All three students accused in the assault were cited by investigators and released. The case has been forwarded to the Ventura County district attorney’s office for possible prosecution.
