CHATSWORTH : Awards Event Will Honor Volunteers

Share

The Chatsworth Community Coordinating Council will honor community members who’ve volunteered their services to local libraries, parks, the Chamber of Commerce and community improvement projects Friday at its 29th Annual Community Service Awards Banquet.

Each year, the coordinating council, a nucleus organization for several community groups, recognizes the efforts of area residents working to improve life in Chatsworth, council officials said.

The purpose is to promote a sense of cohesiveness among the several community organizations based in the area. Projects honored will range from a local minister’s efforts to keep troubled teen-agers out of jail to “Ride On,” a therapy program for disabled children that involves the use of horses.
