Driver Dies, Passenger Hurt in Crash
A La Habra man died and his passenger was injured Monday night when the vehicle they were in overshot an intersection and tumbled over an embankment, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Matthew J. Lundgren, 21, was killed on impact after his vehicle went through an intersection at Melinda and Olympiad roads around 11:15 p.m. Melinda ends at Olympiad.
The vehicle struck two trees and overturned, Deputy Jeff Guyer said.
The passenger, whose name was not released, suffered minor cuts and scrapes. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
