Share

The City Council has appointed a new city manager, the fourth person to hold the job on a permanent or interim basis in the last year.

Leslie Doolittle, 60, will start June 5. He will be paid $66,000 a year.

Doolittle has been interim city manager in Ione in Northern California. He also served as Woodside’s town manager in San Mateo County from 1983 to 1992.

Doolittle succeeds interim City Manager Lyle W. Alberg, a former administrator in other cities who came out of semi-retirement in October. He stepped in after former City Manager Joe Perez resigned to become La Puente’s assistant city manager. Perez held the job less than three months. He had been named city manager after Noelia Chapa resigned in August to become finance director in her hometown of Pomona.
